Terms of service

Last updated October 27, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and Christopher Hines, doing business as Cantivo ("we"), which runs Cantivo (cantivoapp.com). By using Cantivo you agree to them. If you use Cantivo for a company or network, you agree on its behalf.

Who can use Cantivo

You must be at least 18, and you may only add podcasts you own or are authorized to manage.

What Cantivo does

Cantivo checks how AI assistants answer the questions your future listeners ask, builds public pages for your episodes, and prepares drafts such as content fixes, booking pitches, press pitches and sponsor pitches. It also gives you weekly reports.

Much of this is written by AI. It can be wrong or out of date, so review every draft before you use it.

You send everything yourself

Cantivo never sends a pitch for you. You decide what to send, you send it from your own email, and you're responsible for it, including following anti-spam laws (such as CAN-SPAM) and any rules a journalist, outlet or brand publishes.

Your content

You keep ownership of your show, episodes, transcripts and everything else you provide. You give us permission to copy, process and display it as needed to run Cantivo for you, including on the public pages you publish. You can unpublish a page at any time.

You're responsible for the numbers you report, such as downloads. A "Verified" label means we reviewed the evidence you gave us. It isn't an audit.

Acceptable use

Don't add shows you don't control, upload content you don't have the right to use, impersonate anyone, try to get around plan limits, overload or probe the service, scrape it, or use it for anything unlawful. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Plans and billing

There are two plans. Podcaster covers 1 to 4 shows, each paid for individually. Roster starts at 5 shows, for networks, agencies and studios. More shows, or running Cantivo under your own brand, are by arrangement, agreed in writing.

Monthly plans are billed per show, each month in advance, through Stripe: $75 per show on Podcaster, and $60 per show on Roster, with a 5-show minimum. Prices exclude any taxes, which Stripe shows before you pay.

During the beta, paid plans are by invitation. You buy through a private Stripe payment link we send you, and the plan is attached to the email address you pay with. Each plan covers the number of shows you paid for, with the usage limits shown in your dashboard, such as manual re-scans per week.

90-day prepaid plans

Prepaid plans are paid once, upfront, and cover 90 days from the day you pay: $199 per show on Podcaster, or 5 shows for $1,000 on Roster. Shows added to a Roster plan by arrangement end on the same day as the plan they're added to.

Prepaid plans don't renew automatically and you're never charged again without buying a new plan. Access ends on day 90. We'll email you 14 days before it ends. If you renew in those last 14 days, the new plan starts when the current one ends.

Beta price lock

If you join during the beta, the price you joined at is locked for 12 months from your first payment, for monthly plans and for renewals of a prepaid plan, as long as you keep the same plan and number of shows (or more). After that, any change follows the 30-day notice below.

Price changes

If we change a price, we'll email you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you.

7-day guarantee

Your first playlist pages will be live within 7 days of your first payment, as long as you've given us your show's RSS feed. If they aren't, email us and we'll refund that first payment in full. A full refund ends the plan it paid for.

Cancelling and refunds

You can cancel a monthly plan anytime. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for, and you won't be charged again. Apart from the guarantee above, we don't refund partial months or the unused part of a prepaid plan, except where another written offer says so. We honor those exactly as written.

Free tools

The free Discovery Score and free previews are offered as-is. We may limit, change or pause them, for example when our free-use budget is reached.

Sponsor deals and our fee

When Cantivo finds a sponsor and introduces it to you ourselves, and you close a deal with that sponsor, we charge a fee of 15% of what the sponsor pays you for that deal. Those deals are marked "Cantivo intro" in your dashboard.

There's no fee on deals that come from pitches you send yourself, including pitches Cantivo drafted for you, or on deals you find on your own. Those are 100% yours.

Partner referrals

Partners are approved by application. An approved partner earns 10% of what each show they refer pays us during that show's first 12 months, paid by us out of our share. Shows that join with a partner code pay the normal price: a code isn't a discount.

Partners must clearly tell their audience that they earn a referral fee, and may not make claims about Cantivo that these terms don't support. We may end a partnership, and stop future referral payments, if a partner breaks these rules. Using a code never changes what Cantivo does for your show.

No guarantees

We work to improve how your show is found, but we don't control AI assistants, podcast apps, directories, search engines, journalists or brands. Apart from the page guarantee above, we don't promise rankings, AI recommendations, listens, downloads, email subscribers, press coverage, sponsors or revenue.

Journalist and brand information comes from public sources and may be outdated. Any deal you make with a sponsor is between you and that sponsor; our only part in it is the introduction fee above, unless we've signed a separate written agreement with you.

Disclaimer

Cantivo is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limit of liability

To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue or data. Our total liability for any claim about Cantivo is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you haven't paid us anything.

Indemnity

If someone makes a claim against us because of content you provided, a pitch you sent, or your breaking these terms, you'll cover our reasonable costs of dealing with it.

Ending your account

You can delete your account from your dashboard at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the service or other users at risk. These terms keep applying to anything that happened before the account ended.

Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top and email account holders about significant changes. If you keep using Cantivo after a change takes effect, the new terms apply.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, USA. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts in King County, Washington, and you and we both agree to those courts.
