Cantivo (cantivoapp.com) is run by Christopher Hines, doing business as Cantivo, based in Washington, USA. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with and the choices you have. Questions go to admin@hinesightmarketing.com.

Who this covers

Podcasters who run a free Discovery Score or subscribe to Cantivo.

Listeners who visit a Cantivo playlist, answer, guest or media kit page.

Journalists and brand partnership teams whose public business contact details appear in pitch drafts we prepare for podcasters.

What we collect from podcasters

Your email address, your show's RSS feed URL, and the public information in that feed and in public directories such as Apple Podcasts and Podcast Index (show and episode titles, descriptions, artwork, host and guest names).

Anything you add: transcripts, download numbers, audience details, brand preferences, sponsor deals you log, and edits you make to drafts.

Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, which collects and stores your payment details. We don't access them. Cantivo only records which plan you're on, how many shows it covers and when it ends or renews.

What we collect from listeners

Your email address, only if you choose to get new episodes by email, plus a record that you agreed and the consent wording you saw.

Listening activity on Cantivo pages: page views, plays, how far you listened, whether you played a second episode, and which website sent you. This is tied to a random ID stored in your browser, not to your name. Your browser also stores your playback position so you can pick up where you left off.

We don't use advertising cookies, ad trackers or third-party analytics scripts. Our hosting provider keeps basic visit statistics, such as page counts and country.

Public business contacts

To help podcasters pitch journalists and sponsors, we collect business contact details that are already published on public websites: a reporter's name, outlet and author page, a business email the reporter or outlet publishes, or a brand's partnerships page or team inbox (such as partnerships@). We never guess email addresses.

We never contact these people ourselves. Podcasters review each draft and send it from their own email. To have your details removed, email us and we'll delete them and stop collecting them.

How we use information

To run your Discovery Score, build and host your pages, prepare drafts and reports, and send the emails you asked for.

To bill you, keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.

To publish combined statistics, such as average reply rates or score changes across shows. These never identify you, your show or a listener.

AI processing

Cantivo uses AI models from Anthropic (Claude) and Google (Gemini) to answer listener-style questions, read show notes and transcripts, and write drafts. We send them the questions and public show information needed for each task, not your payment details or listener emails. They process it under their own API terms.

Who we share it with

Service providers that run Cantivo for us: Lovable Cloud and Supabase (hosting and database), Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Anthropic and Google (AI), and Podcast Index (podcast directory data). We tell search engines when a public page is published or updated, using IndexNow.

Anything you publish is public: playlist, answer and guest pages, and a media kit if you publish one. A media kit shows only the stats you choose to share.

If you sign up with a partner code, that partner learns that your show joined so we can pay their referral fee. They don't get your account data.

We may share information if the law requires it, or as part of a sale or merger of the business, in which case this policy still applies to it.

We never sell personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Email

We send marketing email only to people who opted in, and every one includes an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing doesn't stop service emails about your account, such as receipts and your weekly report.

How long we keep it

We keep account data while your account is open. When you delete your account from the dashboard, we delete your shows and everything tied to them. Copies may remain in our database provider's backups for a limited time until those backups expire.

Listener emails are kept until the listener unsubscribes or the show is removed. We keep a minimal record of unsubscribes so we don't email that address again.

Your choices and rights

You can ask to see, correct, export or delete the information we hold about you by emailing admin@hinesightmarketing.com. We'll answer within 30 days, wherever you live. Listeners can unsubscribe from any email with one click.

Children

Cantivo isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, database access is restricted to the systems and people who need it, and spending and rate limits guard against abuse. No system is perfectly secure, so please email us if you spot a problem.

Where data is stored

Cantivo is run from the United States, and your information is stored and processed there.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll email account holders before it takes effect.
